History

The Irish Perth Golf Society is a non-profit organisation established in early 2013 servicing amateur golfers based in the Perth metropolitan area. The club now has over 80 active members the majority of which are young Irish professionals living in Perth, Western Australia.

Originally set up by a group of mates keen to play golf with other Irish professionals in the metro area, demand soared with almost 100 members registered by the end of 2013. Whilst predominantly Irish members; we also have players from Australia, New Zealand, England and Scotland.

We’ve been playing once a month since early 2013 and average circa 50 players for each event. We provide signature Irish Perth Golf Society t-shirts to our members through our arrangement with GolfBox, East Perth. We’ve secured sponsorship from organisations such as Kentz Engineering, Durty Nellys and the Irish Consulate of Western Australia, Marty Kavanagh.

Initially, we introduced our own integrated handicapping system before affiliating with Golflink and Golf WA in 2015. We now use the highly efficient Mi-Golf system to operate the society and commissioned our own website for members/guests perusal.
